Our research integrates material chemistry and synthetic biology to program new functional materials and illuminate chemical basis of life.

Our major research interests include:

(i) living functional materials made from DNA;

(ii) bio-systems for diagnosis, therapeutics, food safety detection and environmental protection;

(iii) cell-free synthetic biology.
